Welcome to the Seven Summits Centre for Learning
- Seven Summits Centre for Learning is a not-for-profit educational centre that provides a highly supportive environment, which welcomes diversity in learning style and cultural background. We guide and nurture learners to discover their passions as academically minded, self-expressive and socially conscious individuals who are inspired to be active for life.
Our vision is to be an innovative, self-sustaining, accessible and internationally recognized educational provider with strong local and global partnerships. Our learners will advance with the knowledge, values and skills that they will need to meet their own goals and to be a positive force in the world. Their skills will be developed through participation and exploration in a supportive, nurturing environment, leading them to embrace life long learning. British Columbia School District 71 is our educational partner with their Navigate program, and Red Mountain Academy and Black Jack Ski Club are our athletic program partners.
- Seven Summits Centre for Learning partners with Navigate to deliver a cutting edge, blended-learning program for students in grades 8-12. With a clear focus on building flexible, personalized learning programs that are tailored to meet each student’s needs and “sparks,” Navigate has received national and international recognition for their innovative approach to learning. While Navigate (formerly called North Island Distance Education School) operates out of School District 71 in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, their programming supports students in over fifty of sixty public school districts across B.C., as one of the province’s premier distributed-learning schools. The partnership with the Seven Summits Learning Centre in Rossland means that students who attend the Centre will have direct access to the full range of core and elective courses that are designed using provincial curriculum, and taught by fully certified B.C. teachers located both in Rossland and Courtenay, B.C.
- Seven Summits Centre for Learning with the Red Mountain Academy and the Black Jack Ski Club for our athletic programs. Red Mountain Academy athletes have the flexibility to train in their chosen sport or in the recreational program during the day while still keeping up their academic work in our unique partnership. Competitive athletes in alpine ski racing and free skiing receive professional sport training 5 days a week, a complete dryland training program and a seamless approach to their education and athletic training schedule. Red Mountain Academy hires only the best industry coaches with a wide variety of experiences like; former Canadian National Team head nordic coach, performance level race coaches, CSIA level 4 instructors, senior CSIA level coarse conductor, former inter ski team member and former program director for the CSIA. Black Jack Ski Club nordic ski athletes also are able to take advantage of the flexibility of Seven Summits education to participate in training and racing, while keeping a strong priority on academics.
