Collect all tarps and equipment
Please take home any equipment or tarps you loaned to the Centre. We thank you for the loan but now we are ready to set up for the new year! Tarps are outside on the east side of the main entrance.
Missing Palm Sander
Please check and make sure you didn't accidentally take home a palm sander from the Centre. The volunteer who loaned it would very much like it back and the Centre will have to purchase them a new one if we can't find it. Thanks!
Camping Equipment and Schedule
Youth should be at the Centre at 7:30am on Wednesday September 5th for departure at 8am. Food is provided for breakfasts, lunches and dinners, however, all desserts must be contributed by students and parents. Please send something dessert wise to share, cookies, squares etc. Snacks are the responsibility of the student. Please click here to link to the camping equipment list and schedule.
Camping Trip Costs and Permission Forms
Please bring the camping fee of $80 and permission forms to the Meet, Greet and Eat Potluck or the first day. The Centre does cover some of the cost of the trip and we do keep trip costs as low as possible, however our budget isn’t enough to cover the full costs. Cheque, cash or e-transfer are all accepted forms of payment. If the fee causes a family undue hardship please contact us. Click here to see the schedule. Permission forms will be sent via email to parents for reading, printing and signing.
Meet, Greet and Eat Potluck
Make sure you have our Meet, Greet and Eat Potluck on your calendar. It will be on Labour Day Monday from 5:30-7:30 at the new Centre at 2110 First Ave. (the red roofed church). Bring a dish to share and meet the other families, staff and board. You can tour the new space. We will also go over all the information for the camping trip, get tents sorted and money and permission forms collected.
First day back, Tuesday September 5th will be a full day from 9am-2:45pm. Doors open at 8am and we start at 9am sharp – please be ready to start work at 9am. Make sure you have your laptop with you.
Centre Supply List:
USB memory stick
Earbuds or Headphones
Indoor shoes or slippers
Binder with dividers
Ream of computer printer paper
Pens, pencils, erasers
We ask that you label all your supplies especially your power cords and headphones/earbuds with your name and that you password protect entry into your computer. Supply lists for specific courses will be given later.
Ferraro Food Gift Cards and Receipts
We will have Ferraro Food Gift Cards for sale at the Meet, Greet and Eat Potluck and you can also bring postdated cheques for the rest of the year then too. You decide how much money you spend on groceries per month. You give us a cheque, e-transfer or automatic transfer for an amount that you decide and you will receive gift cards in that exact amount. Ferraro Foods then gives us 10% of what you ordered, i.e. $500 would give you a $500 gift card and us $50! This is our main fundraiser so it is important that all families participate.
Where are you employed? It could get us a grant!
Many companies give out grants if you have staff or staff’s children involved in the endeavour for which you are applying for grant money. If you work for Fortis, RHC Insurance, or Telus please click here and let us know.
Calling all artists – Students and in the Community
With our new space we have lots of wall space. We would like to use the space to showcase artists in the community. We are looking for any artist who would like to display their work. You can put on price tags and have the work for sale, as well. Spread the word. Contact the Centre here.
Volunteer Sign Up Sheet
Don't forget you can sign up here for volunteer jobs at the Centre that will give you enough hours to get your $250 volunteer fee back.
