Seven Summits was founded by the community for the community. We owe our existence to a progressive and passionate group of visionary parents and supporters who initially founded 7S to keep Grades 8 -12 in Rossland when its secondary school closed its doors to students in grades 10 and above.
We are also a reflection of the unique community in which we live — an eclectic group of colourful characters who work hard and play hard too. Lifestyle and balance are paramount. We are small, have a big heart, enjoy a relaxed laid-back vibe and have engineered our lifestyles to be here. We thrive on mountain adventure and use Rossland as a beautiful base to carve our way forward.
Rich community partnerships lead to real-life experiences for our students. We are lucky that the community is so giving of their time, skills and support. Our relationships with the arts, music, and sporting communities remains super strong as a result.
Our learning centre can be physically and metaphorically found in the heart of Rossland’s community. We fill a formerly underused community space within a heritage building topped with an iconic red roof that you can see from pretty much anywhere in town. Though our facility is located in a church building we are not affiliated with any religion, and offer a completely secular education.
We encourage our community to be involved in the life of 7S and use our learning spaces for other purposes too. Community groups rent our learning spaces and industrial commercial kitchen outside of the school day as a hub for learning and personal growth. (FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OUR RENTAL SPACES HERE)
