We are a public education centre in a private setting that provides an exceptional high school education. We are a non-profit, registered charity. We are partnered with an AWARD-WINNING distance learning school — SD71’s NAVIGATE NIDES. All courses meet BC graduation requirements and are delivered through the BC public school district at no cost to local or BC students. We charge a facility fee for our administrative staff and overhead costs.

No. Some of our students are athletes, some are not. Every individual has a different strength and gift; we actively help students to discover and explore what that is or maximize what they already know. Whether their passion is to act, dance, paint, ski, write, skate, design, bike, or travel the world, we ignite the spark in our students and provide personalized support and unique flexibility that you can’t find anywhere else

Academic courses and electives are delivered by BLENDING traditional learning styles with innovative ones. The award-winning SD71’s NAVIGATE NIDES provides courses that meet BC graduation requirements. We take the best of both worlds, online and face-to-face learning, and blend them to create a highly flexible, self-directed, personalized program. Students at 7S are fully supported in traditional classrooms by physically present teachers, providing individual and targeted support throughout the day. Students also access the NAVIGATE NIDES courses online during independent study blocks. They can monitor their progress, work through the content at their own pace and submit assignments ALL ONLINE. There are teacher-mandated deadlines, but students can communicate with teachers to adjust deadlines as needed.

Students have a timetable according to their grades, subjects and elective choices. They attend school between 9:15 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday. They enjoy a 15-minute break (10:25 to 10:40 a.m.) and can use our kitchen and communal areas at lunchtime (11:50 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.) to rest and socialize. The longer school days from Monday to Thursday enable us to close the Centre on Fridays, allowing students more time to pursue their passions.

Ministry funding pays for our SD71 teachers and for the curriculum, but there are additional costs to cover the operating of our Centre. Therefore, we charge a facility fee to cover our rent, utilities and administration costs. Our fundraising efforts and funding from NIDES covers a large portion of the associated costs for various trips and activities that students benefit from throughout the year.
BC residents:
1st student: $2695 per year
2nd student: $2200 per yearCanadian citizens, outside BC $10,600 (facility fee + tuition fee)
International students CA$12,600 (facility fee + tuition fee)
This fee can be paid in installments or all at once.
Eligible families can apply for financial aid, in which case the facility fee can be greatly reduced.
The international fee includes additional costs for homestay. -

Our Centre goal is to cut down on screen time to encourage students to engage with each other in person.
During class time and independent study, cell phone possession and use are restricted but ultimately determined by each staff member depending on the requirements of the learning environment.

Every educational facility has something unique to offer, and there are pros and cons to every learning environment. Our biggest pro is that we offer the care, quality, support and safety of a small school. Students can expect to form meaningful relationships with staff members due to our low student to teacher ratio.
Our students enter post-secondary learning environments with exceptional skills in organization, self-regulation and time management.
Our combination of a robust preparation for college/university and a flexible schedule that leaves room for extra-curricular activities is a versatile formula that fosters highly activated teenagers.
All in all, our students have proven they excel in their education, as well as their passions. Have a look at some of the testimonials via the link below.
