WELOME TO

ROSSLAND

Welcome to our little mountain town with a big character. Our summers are warm, our winters are cold, which means one very important thing:

THERE IS FUN TO BE HAD!

Rossland is located in the Kootenay Rockies Region of BC and is home to just under 5000 friendly people that make Rossland a social and tight-knit community where people know each other, have fun together and watch out for one another. Its terrain doesn’t just make for breathtaking scenery, but also for some of the best outdoor sports opportunities in the world. From world-class skiing on Red Mountain’s fluffy powder (living up to standards of being a resort on the Powder Highway) to beautifully made mountain bike trails that cater to the Sunday pedaler as well as the hardcore senders.

But it doesn’t stop there. Rossland and its surrounding communities (like Nelson, Castlegar, Trail, Fruitvale and Warfield) offer a huge variety of options for even more biking, snowboarding and skiing, hiking, golf, swimming, sledding, rafting, kayaking, trail running, disc golfing, dirt biking, and so much more.

So come check it out, and experience the Kootenay lifestyle for yourself!

BIKING

Rossland’s cross country, enduro, and downhill style trails are some of the best in the world, both in scenery and in technical challenge. Many of these trails have been around for a lot longer than the young athletes that ride them these days.

From beginner-friendly green trails to steep, gnarly double black diamonds with challenging features, Rossland offers all the variety. The Kootenay Columbia Trails Society (KCTS) makes sure our trails stay in tip top shape, ready for you to get sideways on!

SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING

Whether you’re looking for a day of slaying groomers, navigating tight tree runs, laying tracks on wide open powder fields, or hitting drops, rails, and kickers, we’ve got you. Red Mountain Resort offers all your heart desires, and then some. With 360 degree riding on Red, Granite and Grey, you won’t run out of terrain to discover for a looooong time.

For those who are looking for more adventure there are plenty of backcountry options on the Kootenay Pass, in the Valhallas, and on the Strawberry Pass. Nog enough? Check out the amazing skiing trips offered by Big Red Cats.
