BLENDED LEARNING

Blended learning is an approach to education that combines digital educational materials and opportunities for online interaction combined with physical, place-based classroom methods. It provides the flexibility that allows students to pursue their personal interests without academic compromise and prepares students for a life long learning process due to its independent nature.

7S provides a practical implementation of this philosophy and theory behind the British Columbia Education Plan in partnership with SD71 Navigate NIDES, an online learning platform. Together, we have created a functional partnership solidified in the 7S education product. Our learning model works using web-based learning tools for distance learning and becomes blended learning as taught in class by B.C-certified teachers at the Centre. As a result, the student is no longer a passive consumer of content organized and delivered to a large group, but rather an active learner who discovers and initiates. Our teachers fulfill the role of facilitator, advisor, and mentor in helping students achieve their individual learning goals and objectives.

Our curriculum is classroom-based, which means that even though most courses are online, students are expected to be at our Center four days per week: Monday through Thursday. Fridays are meant for independent study and personal programs. Does your personal schedule require your attendance elsewhere during class time? Not a problem. Our staff and teachers are flexible and skilled at personalized learning.
